I started papercrafting after spending 3 weeks in a rehab hospital. As my disability was worse than the other ladies, the only activities I could do in my OT sessions was art and crafts. I have done art since childhood. I painted and decopaged a box and when I got home I brought a magazine that had Christmas card templates- Santa, Rudolf and a snowman and I made my first Christmas cards cutting shapes of coloured card and felt. That was 2009. I don't get to craft as much as I want due to tiredness and pain but just looking forward to it or reading/ watching about crafts keeps me happy. I now do other crafts too. I can do some in bed (knitting, crochet), sitting on the sofa (cross stitch, beading) and I have a table in my guest room to papercraft and messy craft on. I make sure I do something twice a week. I'm not a fast crafter so projects last a while! Had I not got started I think I'd be very depressed as I'd have nothing to look forward to. I also think I'd be more disabled than I am as I have the motivation to sit and use my hands when I feel well enough. I'd urge anyone who is or knows someone who is sick or disabled to find any craft that suits them. It doesn't matter if you are 'good' at it or not, just as long as it's enjoyable. Crafty hugs to all x

Gyro-cut looks like a'must have' tool for my card making. I started papercrafting so I could give 'one off' cards to friends and family and also add to the other crafts I do.

i am artistic and like to explore different types of art, so card crafting followed knitting, sewing and painting :) Thank you for the chance to win your latest craft tool, it looks ideal :)

wow-fantastic tool!! I would love one of these. I started my papercrafts with scrapbooking-which I still do-but also mixed media. including stencils and I can see this tool would be great for cutting stencils!!

I started crafting back when I was very young when I started knitting. By the age of 14 I started papercrafts and made quilled cards to sell for charity. From then its just taken off and I do now for enjoyment and relaxation

My best friend started me off, with a birthday present of a card making kit. Years later, I am making my own wedding invitations.

I started papercrafting because I wanted to send something special to an aunt who had recently lost her husband to cancer ~ it was a sympathy card.

I started in anger after I did our wedding invites, and so many people started saying you should do this for a living. So now I do! But I also find its very therapeutic and gets rid of stress in double quick time x

Hi, what a cool looking knife! I started papercrafting as a kid. Paper is readily available and is a wonderful medium with which you can make...well pretty much anything you can put your mind to! I saw this link yesterday about a student who built an incredible aeroplane model from manilla folders.http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2014/01/paper-bowing-airplane/

What an amazing tool. I got started with scrapbooking because I wanted to add the stories to my photos ... my memory will only get worse!
