I was invited to a floral arranging + cards class and got hooked on card craft I also find it very therapeutic.

Firstly, I would like to say a great big thank you to you papermill guys...not only for the opportunity to win this awesome craft knife, but for offering it those of us who don't use Facebook! Thank you! I don't think crafting was ever a choice for me...I've just always done it! I guess it's in my blood! As soon as I could hold a pen/pencil I was always drawing or writing, I had one of my drawings featured on a children's programme when I was five and started learning calligraphy at seven! I cannot remember a time when I didn't make cards for people - it started off as a piece of paper folded in half with my drawing on the front to watercolour painting mounted in a card and has developed to the paper crafting I do now. I'd like to think I've improved and honed in on my style since I was small, but I suppose that's for everyone else to decide! Having been away from home this past week I have been unable to sit at my desk and create anything - I am really looking forward to getting back to it!! :) Thanks again for this opportunity to win, and good luck to all of the participants - I think everyone is deserving of this fantastic knife! :)

I started after becoming disabled. I was browsing in a newsagents, when I came across some papercraft magazines. I bought one and have never looked back. It is the best pain relief there is. My hubby made the spare room into a craft room and it is crammed full of goodies waiting to be made up and sold for the cares resource centre and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The Gyro cutter looks a fantastic piece of kit. Thank you for letting us enter your competition for one.

I started papercrafting to make Christmas cards several years ago - and it took off from there.

That little tool would suit me down to the ground, I have so much trouble with my hands, that sometimes holding a craft knife or scissors is impossible! I began paper crafting a few years ago, and as with another lady that commented, I am disabled and can't get out much at all. I have always loved paper since a small child, but used it more for drawing, I don't draw these days and need something to keep me going, (HATE sitting idle at the best of times!) so I saw a couple of tutorials on card making and I was totally hooked! I have been known to stay up till stupid o'clock (3-4 am) as I have been so engrossed in what I am doing and not noticed the time! Crafting keeps me sane and gives me a reason to get going of a morning!

Hello. I make all types of models ( Aircaft, Automata, etc.)from paper & card, and this little gadget would be the perfect addition to my toolkit. I too have seen the Boeing 777 made from manila folders. Incredible to say the least! What patience he must have. The video of the Thrust Reverser is particularly good. Very accurate detail. David. What a wonderful tool this would take all the hard work out of cutting for me. I have limited use in my hands & holding scissors for a long time is painful (also I an hopeless at cutting straight) I started making greeting cards quite a few years ago when I couldn't find the ones I wanted to suit the person, so I created my own. Now friends give me challenges to do all their special friends hobbies or favourite pass times, I have had a few odd requests but so far have managed to create unique cards for each person. Crafting is such a wonderful way to create and get lost in a world of paper glitter & glue, it is a way of being able to forget all your troubles in life.

I started paper crafting and card making more years ago than I can remember. It is a satisfying,therapeutic pastime and a very good antidepressant. It certainly eases boredom and I would recommend it to anyone.

Been 'making things since I was young, papercrafting is great because it is quick and one can develop ideas quickly. I now have my own shed at the bottom of the garden and can escape the madness to craft in peace.

I started crafting making cards about 20+ years ago when I was on the union in work and went on a computer course and we had to make some flyers and from there I started making cards with my computer then went on to making them from scratch I love paper crafting I am 75 and it keeps me occupied I make all kinds of things from templates, not my own templates but the trickier the better and I buy all my card from you but don't sell any do it all for friends and family would love to win the knife thank you for giving me a chance to try x

I started papercrafting following the birth of my son in 2006. Wanted to make some personalised thank you cards and searched the internet for supplies endlessly, stumbled upon UKscrappers website and really got into scrapbooking and card making, buying all sorts to feed my craft habit! Ive taken part in ATC swaps and circle journals which I loved, but looking after my son and then my daughter kind of took all my time up! My two are both at school now so have just started getting back into everything, hopefully starting a wedding/celebration stationery business in the coming months. Thanks!

i started papercrafting when i became disabled. they say that when one door closes another opens and i feel that has happened for me. i never thought of myself as artistic in anyway but by trying and practising i hav learnt not only that i am, everybody is if only we all had the time.

I've always crafted for as long as I can remember, but my first real papercraft project was makinh paper beads back in 1978 from issues of Bunty comic for girls! I'm disabled and this tool looks like it could be useful for me.

I've always been creative in one way or an other, it was something that I did with my mum as I was growing up, then it kind of got put on a back burner for a few years during a bad relationship. Then I met my husband and when we decided to get married on new years eve 2009 we had not long moved across the country which had cost a fortune, plus with christmas and other things our budget was on a tight shoestring but I didn't want to just buy plain invitations from the shops, I wanted something special but didn't have the money to pay for them to be made so I purchased some ivory cardstock, a few packets of wedding peel offs and some ribbon that matched the tartan that my husband and sons kilts were, from that I sat at our dining table with a metal ruler, sharp kitchen knife and created a hundred gatefold invitations that were tied with a tartan bow, after that was the order of services to match and then thankyou cards, It definitely felt good when everyone, even the vicar complimented my creations and said how beautiful they all were. I have tried my hand at many crafts, including cake decorating, but keep coming back to paper crafting as I can while away the hours and not realise the time gone by and achieved something I am very proud of.....Now I am retired I have even more time.....thanks

i started crafting about 4 years ago i did a craft course at the local school as i was suffering with depression at the time my friends and family told me to get out and do stuff so i joined this craft course doing christmas things but the thing that got me started was the christmas cards we made and it was with a tecnique i aint seen before iris folding was brilliant and the tutor was really amazed at the card i had done with it being a hard thing to learn and got ti straight away and was then told to carry on crafting so that day i went out and started buying bits and pieces and magazines and went from there and now i cant stop making cards want to leanr loads of the different folds well i hope i win coz i so could do with a tool like that

Started making cards many years ago because I just love creating and using new techniques and sending out the results to friends. I started paper crafting when I found out about the craft of quilling. I now make unique cards and boxes, tailored to the recipient made with love from the sender. Amazing!
