Hello,It's Nessa here-Today I have a tutorial to share with you to show you how I changed this rather tired(and a little bit tatty!)Froggy box frame into this musical themed butterfly box frame, with just a little time and some Papermilldirect card! ...

I found the box frame in a charity shop,I love looking in charity shops to find little bargains that with a little time and thought can make pretty and inexpensive gifts, this frame cost me just £1.50 and gave me a happy afternoon crafting to alter it!The little decoupaged frog had seen better days, the frame although dismantled was complete and in good condition.I started by re painting the green frame with some black acrylic paint(I use very inexpensive paint from Wilkos less than £1 a tube!)...

I gave Mr Frog and the inside of the box a wash with some Buttermilk acrylic paint(so that he didn't show up through the light coloured manuscript I was using for my backing paper) ...

Frg3

I cut some music manuscript to fit into the base of the frame and cover up the frog, then I roughly assembled the frame to see if i liked the look of it before I added the butterflies ...

Frg4

I die cut a bundle of different sizes of butterflies from Papermilldirect Ivory linen and Black smooth card ...

Frg6

I moved them around until I as happy with the layout and then stuck just the middles of the butterflies down,so that I could pull up the wings to give the impression of flight.i layered up the larger butterflies and added some tiny pearls to finish them off...

I really like the way this turned out-I have found the perfect place for it on my bookshelves next to Clay dog! I think these would make lovely little Christmas gifts,i have made mine in very classic colours to match my decor-but you could have fun with bright funky colours! ..

Loving the music and butterflies theme you chose for transforming your 'find'. Looks like it was purchased in a very posh shop now, fab work and great turorial :)
