Hello,it's Nessa here, today I am looking at ways you can use Washi Tape in your cardmaking.

If you have never used it before you might be wondering what in the world is Washi?Washi tape is a self adhesive Japanese paper tape,it comes in a huge array of colours and beautiful patterns-and although you can easily tear pieces off the roll it is surprisingly robust-perfect for crafting!

I have a few cards to show you to give you some ideas on how you can use wonderful Washi-you can buy the tapes I have used today from http://www.dragonchant.co.uk and http://stores.ebay.co.uk/giftswithyouinmind/ who kindly provided this gorgeous selection for me to play with! ....

Wash1

I made a Washi frame on a piece of smooth white card and added it to my white linen card base to surround my 3D flower ....

Was2

For this card I used some butterfly dies to cut my cream linen card base- I added some strips of the Washi tape onto another piece of card and then cut out the butterflies again from this piece.......

Collage Washi

.I added the Washi butterflies back into the holes on the front of my card-as they are die cut they are a perfect fit!

At Last

This time I used the fabulous clouds and hearts tape to make a background and added two die cut hearts from Papermilldirect post box red card-I ran them through a dotty embossing folder to goive them a lovely texture...

Washi4

For this card I used 3 rolls of co-ordinating tape in fun party colours!I used them to make a background panel and added extra tape to the  white linen card base itself-a simple greeting backed onto some Papermilldirect baby pink card finishes this fun card! ...

Washi 10

I used the musical notes tape to make a quirky "Just a note" card-I added die cut musical notes cut from Papermilldirect black smooth card and added a simple stamped greeting and some score lines to make a very quick and easy card ...

Note1

Washi tape is not just for cardmaking-you can use it in all sorts of crafty ways!I found a little blank wooden box in my stash and gave it two coats of cream acrylic paint and then added some Washi tape to the lid and sides to make a pretty little jewellery box ....

Box1

I hope you have enjoyed seeing a few ideas of how you can use Washi tape in your handmade crafts-and I hope you too have fun playing with Wonderful Washi!

Happy Crafting!
