Hello, my name is Keith Young and I have over 50 years of experience offering people and businesses the highest quality paper and card. Currently, I am the managing director and owner of papermilldirect, a leading online craft store that is also one of the largest stockists of coloured paper and card in Europe.
As a company, we specialise in craft paper and card, envelopes, card blanks and craft supplies. I am also a firm believer that we should be doing our part for the environment, which is why papermilldirect’s practices are non-polluting and we are as eco-friendly as possible.
I am also the managing director of Grosvenor House Papers Limited, supplying exercise books & paper, craft materials and copier paper to schools, local authorities and businesses nationally. Currently, we have the largest range and stockholding of school exercise books & paper in the UK.
How did I get into the paper trade?
I started working for Grosvenor House Papers in June 1966 (the year England won the world cup) as a general factotum, I worked in the warehouse, as a van driver and a guillotine operator. At this point in time, there were only four people who worked in the business, so it was all hands in.
I purchased Grosvenor House Papers in 1992 and in recent years we have grown considerably - supplying exercise books & paper, craft materials, copier paper and office equipment to schools, local authorities and businesses nationally. Grosvenor House Papers has started to print custom books for schools and businesses as we have installed a Konica Minolta BizHub 2250 press running inline to a Watkiss PowerSquare 224 booklet maker.
In 2016 Grosvenor House Papers purchased papermilldirect, since the acquisition we have dramatically increased our product offering from just card and paper to envelopes, card blanks and craft supplies.
What advice would I give to someone who wanted to get into the paper trade?
Paper is a living thing and there will never be a paperless world, so the demand will always be there.
You must work hard and provide good quality products and services, when I pick up paper and card I can always tell the quality of it.
Adapting to changes in demand within the market and having a passion for the product you are working with will help you go a long way.
What makes papermilldirect different from any other paper and card supplier?
Papermilldirect is an e-commerce business, working with a wide range of suppliers to provide high-quality card, paper, envelopes and card blanks. We operate mainly in the UK and Ireland, however we also supply most EU countries and Scandinavia, and are proud to be one of the largest stockists of coloured paper and card.
This allows us to provide a wide range of high-quality paper, cardand craft products directly to you, and means that, when you order your craft supplies from papermilldirect, you can expect a premium quality product that perfectly meets the requirements of your next project.
We understand how your requirements for your materials can change from project to project, and we have used this idea to inspire our popular pick and mix paper boxes that you can build yourself based on your specific requirements. If you’re not sure which of our paper and card products to pick, we also have our sample range, which allows you to select 10 samples from our great range for just £1 and no additional shipping cost.
What does the future for papermilldirect?
We will continue to expand our product offering to customers as well as adapting their changing needs and requests as our customers are the centre of our business.
We will strive to continue providing outstanding customer service.
Innovation and new ideas are always welcome at papermilldirect and we will continue to use practices that are non-polluting and as eco-friendly as possible.

Sixteen years ago I called into your shop to buy a Cricut Machine with a view to it helping me with my quilting hobby. Janet Young demonstrated the Cricut and invited me to a card making class. Janet inspired me to start a new hobby and I've been a regular customer since. Your website is the Number 1 site for anyone wishing to buy paper/card supplies.

Wonderful story. I have been a customer for about five years now and have no complaints. Recently purchased your swatch books. They are wonderful especially the information on each piece of paper. I recommend your company when ever I can. I use your 260 paper and heavier for 3 d paper projects. But find it hard to find a good flesh colour that isn’t too pink. Would you be considering that kind of colour in the future?
Thank you.
