Hi,
It’s Karen here with a card for a difficult occasion. It is often tricky to find the right card to express your sympathy. I hope this will help and give you some inspiration.
Materials used:
- Rosa sparkle card
- Mercury sparkle card
- Fleck Kraft card
- Versafine Ink – Onyx black
- MISTI stamping tool
- Sentiment stamps from Visible Image – ‘Go to Words’
- Miscellaneous flowers and mini beads most of which I got from the wedding section in Hobbycraft
- Glue
Firstly, I took a piece of A4 kraft card and scored it for a DL sized card (mine was 10.5mm x 18.5mm).
I then cut two strips of the Rosa Sparkle card - one 3.9mm wide and one 5.2mm wide. I also cut a piece of Mercury Sparkle card – 4.4mm wide. I glued them all together as shown. I didn’t use tape in this instance because I wanted the option of being able to move the card a little to ensure that I got the borders just right.
Creating the little posy from three miniature roses and some mini pearls which I had in my stash was fun. I bound them together with a little piece of sheer brown ribbon. I also made a little bow and stuck it all together with some glue.
The sentiment I used was ‘with sympathy’ from the Visible Image ‘Go to Words’ set and I stamped it with black versafine ink – my favourite black ink (I may have said that before 😊).
I then glued a few small beads of two different sizes around the card to add interest and lighten it.
