Fantastic stamping technique to give the effect of Bokeh.
Hi All,
Nicole here today to share a fun birthday card made using a simple stamping technique. I used:
- Papermilldirect Super Smooth card
- Papermilldirect Slate Grey Card
- Lawn Fawn Let's Bokeh Stamp Set
- Label Love Stamp Set from Altenew
- Distress Inks
I cut down a panel of slate grey card to mat a panel of smooth white card onto.
I used the Let's Bokeh Lawn Fawn stamp set and the Smooth White card to stamp my own background onto.
I stamped the circles from the set repeatedly in a selection of inks until the panel was covered. I used a Misti stamping tool to help me with this.
You need to make sure to over lap when doing this technique to get the full effect from it.
I used a Wink of Stella glitter pen on some of the smaller circles to give some extra sparkle. It is hard to photograph this but it is quite visible in real life. I also stamped a happy birthday label stampe from Altenew to add to the card.
Here is the completed card. The birthday sentiment is the only extra embellishment to allow the stamped background to really shine. The hardest part about this technique is picking a good colour combination!
