I had a special birthday card to make recently - a little girls 1st birthday card. I wanted something really fun and a little bit different for this so I turned to my Silhouette to help me out. I used a box birthday card file, but you can make this cards without a cutting file, I just liked the style of this one! The Papermilldirect card cuts wonderfully with the Silhouette too. I used:
- Papermilldirect Buff Smooth Card
- Papermilldirect Pastel Pink Card
- Papermilldirect Gold Sandgrain Card
- Papermilldirect Lustre Print Auburn Card
- Papermilldirect White Linen Card
- Pink Wire
- Wink of Stella glitter pen
- Silhouette Birthday Box Cut File
I cut the box file from the buff card and used this as the base for the card. I then layered the pastel pink as my 'icing'. I then used a wink of stella glitter pen to add sparkle to the icing. You can see this in the image below.
I added the balloons (cut from the lustre pink card for some more shimmer) on wires. I sandwiched these wires inside the box mechanism before it was all put together. They are really fun as you can pose them as you like. I then stamped a birthday sentiment on a small rectangle panel for the front of the card and added the age with a number sticker. On the back of the card is another white panel for the birthday message. It was a fun way to do a card, especially for such a fun occasion!
