Happy New Year Card
Danielle Bigland
This Happy New Year card, designed by Danielle, is simplistic yet sleek and is perfectly suited to beginners. You’ll want to begin by cutting a panel of card (this tutorial recommends A2, but you can customise this to your preferred size) from Perla Sirio Colour Card. This will make up the main panel of your card. Then, cut a piece of Silver Glitter Card to create a thin border around the grey panel – around 1mm larger.
You can then choose to hollow out that piece of card so that the beautiful silver sparkle is not wasted underneath the grey. Create a card base using the Perla Sirio card, and then assemble the project, beginning with the card base, then the silver border, then the grey panel, and stick it all down with an adhesive like Anita’s PVA Tacky Glue. Follow this step by cutting out the letters to spell out ‘Happy New Year’ from your chosen card type. For a cohesive look, use the same glitter card as the border, or feel free to add a pop of colour instead.
New Year Thank You Notes
Sylvia Ames
If you want to get ahead on your thank you notes for Christmas, then these colourful New Year Thank You Notes by Sylvia are a great choice. Using our ready-made card blanks in whichever size you desire, a background, sentiment, and embellishments, you can have your very own personalised thank you cards that truly express your gratitude. Inky backgrounds can be made using white card or rich cream hopsack card, distress paints, distress oxide inks, gesso, rubber stamps, and stencils. Simply cut your background sheet to fit the card blank, add your sentiments and insert before attaching to the card.
2025 Cards
Here are a selection of our favourite card designs that can be easily adjusted to say ‘2025’ instead of the years pictured in the individual tutorials. This is the perfect way to get the recipient ready for the new year and can be repeated annually with a simple change of numbers.
New Year 2020 Cards
Jane Taylor
These New Year Cards are sure to begin the new year with a bang. This design can also be interpreted in three different ways, which is perfect for those looking to send multiple cards out and want to avoid using the same design. Using a combination of plain black card, royal pink pure pearl card, Charcoal Sparkle Print card, you can create a dynamic black and pink card that your loved ones will want to display. You will also need some stamps or peel-off stickers, stencils, number dies, and inks. Each of these designs are simple to create and can be easily adjusted to be applicable to 2025.
2021 New Year Card
Jane Taylor
This glamorous New Year Card design gives a spectacular look that can be reimagined in lots of different colour combinations. For this tutorial, you will need our A5 navy card blank, harvest gold pure pearl double sided card, and double sided tape. You will also need a firework stencil, embossing paste, gold embossing powder, number dies, and frame die. Use the stencil and embossing paste to add fireworks to the blue navy card, sprinkle on some gold embossing powder and heat to give it that added sparkle. Die cut a gold frame from the pearl card and stick to the front of the card blank, and finish by die cutting the numbers 2025 to add to the card.
Sparkle into the New Year!
Alison Pendlebury-Brown
For a card that will truly blow your recipient away, this Sparkle into the New Year design by Alison is a fantastic choice. It certainly requires some more dedication, but for a card that looks like a firework, it’s definitely worth it. Begin by making the pop-up box card base from black plain card, and cut mats from the holographic blast mirror card and stick to the base using Anita’s PVA Tacky Glue. You’ll then want to cut ‘2025’ and ‘sparkle into the new year’ (or your choice of phrase) from our silver non-shedding glitter card and matte them onto a charcoal mat to adhere to the card base. The firework shapes can be cut from charcoal black pure pearl sparkle card and can be adhered to the card base using strips of acetate.
