Hi all,
It’s Karen again and I Iove pink. I matched this card up with one of Papermilldirects lovely pink envelopes too. This is a fun card and I hope you enjoy it 😊
Materials used:
- White Hemp cardstock 255gsm
- Black Card Plain 250gsm
- C6 Flamingo Pink Peel & Seal Envelope
- White Card
- Distress inks – Worn lipstick, Picked raspberry and fired brick
- Round blending tools
- Black fine tip pens
- Lavinia Stamps – Star blossom, lavender and Wild Flower
- Versafine ink - Onyx black
- Square die cuts
- Glue and 3D mounting pads
Firstly, I took a piece of A4 White Hemp cardstock. This is absolutely my favourite card of all time! I cut in half and then scored and folded it to make an A6 sized card.
Using a square die, I cut three pieces of white card stock and, then using the slightly larger sized square die I cut three squares in black card.
I then blended a little ‘worn lipstick’ distress ink onto each of the white squares. I blended from the outside edge in, leaving a little white space in the centre which will help the flowers to stand out and create a ‘glow’. I used a piece of clean scrap paper to cover the other side of the card so that I didn’t get any many finger marks on it.
I repeated the blending process with ‘picked raspberry’ distress ink and then ‘fired brick’. By using the three colours I can achieve a lovely depth to the colour which cannot be achieved with only one colour.
I then stamped the flower images using black versafine ink. This is my favourite ink for stamping and achieving crisp clear images.
Using glue, I stuck the white stamped squares to the black sqares and then glued two of the squares to the card front. I adhered the third square with 3D mounting tape to give dimension to the card.
Finally I used a medium sized black pen to draw a line around the edge of the card. It was intentional not to have it completely straight and the texture in the hemp cardstock helped with this. I decided not to add a sentiment as sometimes it is helpful to have a blank card to use for any occasion.
