I love when friends request cards and give an idea of colours but other than that 'whatever you think'. It means you get to be creative and make something you might not ordinarily, with colours you may not usually and push your boundaries a bit more! On this card I used:
- Papermilldirect Smooth White card
- Papermilldirect Buff Card Blank
- Papermilldirect Red Plain Card
- Papermilldirect Baby Pink Plain Card
- Barn Door Distress Ink
- Stormy Sky Distress Ink
- Altenew Label Love Stamp Set
- Fleur-de-Lis Embossing Folder
- Heart Die
- Scalloped Rectangle Die
I started off by inking up the embossed background. To do this I took an ink dauber and inked it up with the Barn Door Distress Ink. I then wiped off the excess on a scrap of paper, and then swiped it over the embossed panel. I swiped until I was happy with the coverage - but didn't re-ink at any point. This gave me the colour I wanted, with out it being over coloured.
Once this panel was ready I adhered it onto the buff card base. I then added the white scalloped rectangle and then added the red die cut heart onto this.
I stamped the sentiment in the Stormy Sky ink to give a pop of navy blue to the card. I cut this out and added it to the pink banner I made. I added this banner over the top of the heart. I used foam tape under the banner to keep the dimension of it.
This finished off the card and the banner gives even more texture and dimension to the card. The colour combination on this card is a classic, red, pink and navy, with a pop of the buff card and I love how it all looks together!
