JOY Christmas Gift Tag

Hello It’s Angela here again and this week I’m sharing a little Gift Tag made with this week’s Special Offer cardstock ‘Dark Red’.

Although I used my Cricut Explore to cut this tag shape, (DS link below) it can easily be made by hand by cutting rectangles of card and angling the ends.  I cut out a stag shape from the top tag layer but you could use a stamp or die cut or punch to create the Stag as this is a popular craft theme this year.

First Cut the 3 tag shapes, the largest and smallest with the Stag cut-out from the PMD Dark Red offer card, the middle size tag shape has been cut from PMD ‘Buff’ colour card.  Using a ‘JOY’ sentiment stamp and Brilliance ink in ‘Cosmic Copper’ stamp the sentiment just under the Stag shape.  Using the same copper ink, tap around the edges of the 2 larger tag shapes to add a little colour edging.

Glue Stag panel centrally onto Buff card shape and add a little red adhesive gemstone to the nose area.

Carefully pierce a hold into the top of the largest Dark Red tag shape and thread with red & white twine, pulling ends through the loop to secure.

Add foam pads to the back of the layered stag panel and stick centrally on top of the large tag shape. (I used small ones as couldn't find my larger ones :D)

Thread 2 small jingle bells onto red & white twine, tying them in place

and loop through tag tying in a bow to attach at top of tag.

To finish add more red adhesive gemstones to decorate the tag shape.

You now have a simple gift tag using just 2 colours of card in traditional colours but with jingle bells to add an element of fun. I thought this design would be suitable for male gifts too and could also be used as a card topper.
