Hello it’s Angela here to share a Party make with you. This week the Design Team are working on the theme of Little Girls Party Invitations or Decorations and the featured cardstocks are Lightly Embossed Raspberry Red and Flecked Lilac. I have created these easy invitations and cupcake toppers using both the featured cards and the Silver Sandgrain which is also on Special Offer!
I cut my base card on my Cricut Explore to achieve the cut-out style of ‘It’s A Party’ but the embellishments are all die cut, so you could easily create a similar style card without a Cricut if you prefer. I have kept these cards simple to make them easy to batch make but also you could have your child help make them, hand them scored and folded card bases and a selection of pretty princess themed die cuts to stick on themselves for fun party preparations you can both share.
The Base card is cut from Papermilldirect Flecked Lilac with an insert of Raspberry Red which shows through the cut out. The Flecked Lilac is very similar to the PMD New Lilac in colour but has a lovely dark flecked effect and of course it cuts beautifully on my Cricut Explore too. All the party details can be printed out on your printer and adhered to the inside of the card, just remember to leave clearance for the cut outs.
I have used a First Edition die set to cut the Unicorn, Tiara and Princess wording using the Raspberry Red and the Silver Sandgrain, again these cardstocks cut perfectly on my old Big Shot die cutter even with it’s worn out plates. I have glued the embellishments in place flat to the card base using a clear drying glue and added some sparkly clear adhesive gems to finish.
These cardstocks are also great to create lots of other party decorations and embellishments, I made some little cupcake toppers really easily by die-cutting unicorns and Tiaras to match the card and gluing a cocktail stick sandwiched between a front & back piece.
