If you are a business owner, you will know all too well just how difficult it can be to stand out in a crowd and set yourself apart from your competition. While everybody’s fighting to have their voice heard and their brand seen, you may be thinking of how you can give yourself an edge over everyone else.
We have been thinking about how you can REALLY stand out in a crowd.
Deliver an Extraordinary Service
If there is one way that is sure to impress customers and ensure that they keep coming back, it is delivering an extraordinary service. While other methods may help you to be spotted, this will make sure that once a customer chooses you, they are not disappointed.
Word of mouth can be a powerful tool, and the only way to ensure that you can take advantage of this is to make sure that you keep customers happy once you have them.
Examine Your Branding
The most successful brands all have something in common – excellent branding. No matter what industry you are in, you cannot underestimate the importance of creating a recognisable and consistent brand.
It’s wise to regularly examine your branding and ask yourself a few questions – does this represent my company? Is it recognisable? Does it tell customers what we do? If you are answering ‘no’ to any of these questions, it may be time to change things up a little.
Add a Personal Touch
As consumers, we love to be treated as individuals. If we feel like we are being given a personal touch, it can be an incredibly powerful way to keep our custom. This is a great way of standing out in a crowd as many companies just don’t do it.
It needn’t be a huge job as it can be as simple as using the first name of your customers in email marketing. Alternatively, writing Christmas cards to your customers can help to make them feel special. If you really want to make sure you stand out from the crowd, you can try popping your Christmas cards into a fun, patterned envelope to make sure they have no chance of missing it!
Find Your Voice
Having a consistent tone of voice for your brand is important. It means that when customers interact with your brand, they are more likely to feel as if they know who you are and what you stand for. Not only should you find a tone of voice that represents your brand, you should make sure that you use it!
There are plenty of ways in which you can ensure that the voice of your brand is getting out there, from blogging to social media. If you’re an avid follower of Papermilldirect, you will notice that we regularly update our blog, giving craft tutorials, quick tips and showing off the work of our customers. This gives us the opportunity to use our voice and connect with our customers, helping us to stand out in the crowd.
Of course, standing out in the crowd will probably mean something different for you, but if you can identify your audience and the crowd, you may just be able to set yourself apart.
