Hi all,
A kind friend gave me a new die and so I used it here and was really pleased with the results.
Materials used:
Dies used;
- Hello Friend Sentiments from Spellbinders - Inspire
- ‘Gorgeous Gardenia Outline’ Flower die from Memory Box
- ‘Gorgeous Gardenia Background’ Flower die from Memory Box
- Stars Embossing folder
- Distress inks in the following two colours; peeled paint and abandoned coral
- Martha Stewart border punch and white paper for the insert
- Crystal glitter
- Stick and spray glue (in a can)
- Glue and 3D mounting pads
Firstly, I embossed a piece of white card with a star embossing folder. Unfortunately, I have had this particular embossing folder for such a long time and I don’t remember the name of it. Sorry about that but this card will lend itself to any feminine type embossing folder.
I then die cut the flower outline and the background shape out of the white card. I coloured the base of the die cut with distress inks and a finger dauber; green for the leaves and pink for the petals.
I glued the outline flower die to the base and then sprayed it with stick and spray glue. This made the glitter stick to it really well.
I have an old shoe box which I use when I spray or splatter. This saves splattering or spraying everything else on my workdesk 😊
I layered up the embossed white card onto the silver card and the lilac base. I used glue which gives me a few seconds to ensure that it is lined up correctly. I like to leave about 3mm on each edge for each mount as I think is a good sized border.
I glued the lilac die cut sentiment and then used 3D mounting pads for the flower.
For the insert I used a piece of white paper which I folded in half and used a Martha Stewart border punch to add a more feminine trim along the edge. To glue it in place I use only a strip of adhesive tape along the card fold as this allows the insert to flap loosely inside the card.
A pretty card for a lovely friend.
