Hi everyone, Barbara here with little blog post all about BUTTERFLIES! (well, not so little, as it's quite 'photo-heavy')
Butterflies are very, very popular at the moment, and not just for disguising a smudge or mistake, although they do come in very handy for that.
I've picked out a few projects I've made with butterflies, over the past year or so....there are some very pretty stamps, punches and dies out there, so it pays to shop around.
All cards in this post are made with white linen card stock from Papermilldirect. This card can now be included in a box of coloured card stock.
The butterfly and sentiment stamps are from Sheena Douglas, I've coloured the butterfly with Dylusion spray inks.
This second card is made with my favourite butterfly stamp at the moment.....it's the Zen butterfly from Lavinia Stamps, I love it!
The sentiment is a rub-on from Kaisercraft.
This beautiful stamp is from Stampin'Up, and is called the Swallowtail butterfly. It's a very large stamp, and quite a considered purchase, but definitely worth it. The image has been heat-embossed and then coloured with Dylusion inks. The sentiment is from Sheena Douglas.
On this card I've used white linen & smooth black card stock....The background is coloured with Brusho inks and the stamps are from Visible Image.
This lovely set of butterflies is by Oak House Studio......the background was coloured with Colour Chemistry inks from OHS, and I've heat-embossed the butterflies to make them vivid against the background.
This card was made with a butterfly die from Spellbinders.....the butterfly & background have been inked with Cosmic Shimmer spray inks.
This is one of my favourite cards....the butterfly stamps are by Lavinia Stamps, the sentiment is from Inkylicious. I've also used a little butterfly punch in places.....the white linen topper is matted onto raspberry pink and teal card stock.
I've used a tiny butterfly die from Cheery Lynn for this card. It's a great way to use up scraps of card
Last, but not least, this is a little set of cards I made on the Silhouette Portrait. The colours I've used are daffodil yellow, lime green, raspberry pink, sky blue, ocean blue and white linen. I love the crisp vibrant colours aginst the fabulous white linen. Papermilldirect card cuts beautifully on the Silhouette Portrait, it inks perfectly and is fabulous to stamp on.....I never use anything else!
Well, hope you've enjoyed looking at some of my butterfly creations, please feel free to ask questions, if you want further details.
Barbara.
