Details on how to win this beautiful Clematis Tower Stamp worth £9.99 at the end of the post!

Hello everyone, Barbara here today posting an interview with Lynnda Worsnop, owner of Oak House Studio in East Yorkshire. I have admired Lynnda's work since seeing her presenting some lovely stamps on Create & Craft a few years ago......Here is what we talked about :-

Q) When did you start Oak House Studio, and why? A) I started in 2006 for a few reasons....buying stamps for my shop, I was always looking for different designs and for designs that would help with teaching classes. Then my classes made some cards for the BBC 'Making Waves' appeal and I designed a lifeboat set, which we sold to raise money for the appeal, and things just grew from there.

Q) Why stamping? A) I love how versatile stamping is. I do get bored quickly with other crafts, but there is always something new to learn with stamping. As a teacher, I find stamping is both accessible AND a challenge that you can go on learning from.

Q) Your polymer is unusual, what made you choose it? A) I was looking for something with the strength and durability of rubber and the 'see-through' qualities of clear. Our polymer is laser-cut which gives great accuracy to the image and allows me to safely include lots of detail.

Q) Where do your design ideas come from? A) I come at the designs from several directions....things I see around me, a set of railings, some bathroom tiles.....sometimes I have a project I want to make, and the stamps are created to achieve that. Many of our stamps are botanical....I LOVE my garden and studied Horticulture at the local college.

Q) What is your favourite colour? A) I am known for using a lot of blue & green, but when you look outside, it's easy to see why. I do try to use other colours now and then, but always seem to come back to my favourites.

Q) What would you say is your favourite technique? A) It is hard to pick only one....but I love to show students and visitors how to heat emboss, the look on their faces is always priceless. I also love to paint my images and find it very relaxing. I get excited about new techniques and love exploring ideas, I'm currently enjoying working on fabric projects for home.

Q) And out of all your stamps, do you have a favourite? A) That's a very hard question, but think I would have to say the Clematis.....this was the first one shown on Create & Craft, and proved to be very, very popular.

Q) What advice would you give to other crafters? A) Find a good craft teacher.......it will save you a lot of money in the long term, and, of course, crafty friends are the best! Q) And lastly, do you think your Design Team are the best in the world? A) YES, definitely...... (I asked and answered this question myself, haha ....can you guess why!) I love the variety of techniques which means I can pick and choose the bits I enjoy like stamping and embossing. The crafting community is amazing as well, so many friendly people willing to share idea's.

To take plain card & turn it into something beautiful gives me so much pleasure and, hopefully, does the same for the recipient!

There are thousands of ways to make a card, no set style or technique, no hard and fast rules whatever the mood there is always a style. Pushing the boundaries

I get a thrill every time I produce a little work of art from just a perfectly plain piece of card, not one is ever the same, and I particularly love embossing with my big shot and pearlised card.

I love card making, especially when I can make something which relates to the person I'm making it for and then seeing their reaction! Thank you for the chance of winning this gorgeous stamp.

I'm loving that clematis tower stamp :) I like to do all sorts of crafting, I have long term and chronic illnesses, so crafting is not only a way to take my mind off the constant pain but is also an awesome way that I get to spend quality time with my 4 young kiddiewinkles as they love to craft too and when Im too ill to get out with them or sometimes even do crafts myself its easy to still be involved just watching on, we have so much fun and have many laughs getting messy. Hugs xnx

My absolute favourite thing about making cards and gifts is seeing the faces of the recipients :) (only if they like it of course!) I love being able to create something that makes someone else happy, even if it's just for a minute ;)

I get a real thrill from giving my cards to family and friends and those that I sell too..time and time again people comeback to me and thank me for my cards saying how well received they are and how their long lost relatives and friends get in touch with them to thank them for sending them such a lovely card..so I take real comfort from knowing my hand crafted cards bring people closer together.

What I love the most about my crafting is the friends I've made. My crafting buddies are the best. We regularly meet up and make a project each time.We have a giggle and support each other. We often share crafting bits we've found and that tends to lead to more purchasing. I also love how much paper crafting has changed. It can all be used for much more than just card making. The versatility of it is fab. I've even introduced to the students at the school I work at and love it. They love seeing all the different things that can be made x

i love card making as it is quite relaxing. I love all the different designed stamps you can get. I just made a load of christmas cards and my mother had the whole lot. I do not mind as i love making them. I do need more storage for the stamps that i will be getting over next year.

I love crafting of all sorts. It pleases me to take a flat piece of card/paper and create something which is 3D from it. I love to make boxes and embellishments for my cards and boxes. Have a very Happy Christmas.
