A Gelli Plate printing technique to make a lovely background
Hi Sylvia here with a bright summery birthday card. The weather is so dull at the moment and I wanted to send a little sunshine with this birthday card.
I made a gelli plate background using yellow distress inks, stencilled the flowers, stamped and 3D the butterfly and stamped the words. The background was layered onto two papermilldirect white hemp panels then onto a papermilldirect yellow card blank.
You can see Sylvia's full step by step tutorial for gelli plate printing in her previous post.
As I had the butterfly stamp out on my desk I stamped onto the envelope too.
Materials I used:
- Papermilldirect square card blank, value white card 300 gsm and white hemp card
- JOFY11 stamps and Paper Artsy PS059 stencil
- distress inks
- Archival ink in sepia
Sylv xx
