Easy Christmas Tree or Table Favour Boxes – Mirri Holographic Blast Card

Hello, it’s Angela here to share a quick and simple way to add pretty little treat favour boxes to your Christmas tree. These are so easy to make and your children could have fun decorating them too, filling with treats and hanging them on the tree.

Best of all this simple tree-shaped box design is actually a FREE SVG file from Dreaming Tree, which means it’s compatible with lots of different cutting machines.  (For this project I cut on my new Scan N Cut machine as a test project).  The SVG format means you can easily resize the box to suit your purposes, I sized mine to fit onto A4 card and found this an ideal size for the tree.

Papermilldirect’s  Mirri Holographic Blast card is perfect for projects like this, it cuts cleanly and has such a lovely eye-catching effect that you really don’t need to add too much in the way of decorations.  The special effect card reflects and catches the lights on your tree to really sparkle.  These 1 piece boxes are also very easy to assemble, simply fold on the score lines and bend, no adhesives are required as the twine holds them together.

I kept it simple by simply glueing on some coloured sequins, adding a bow to the top, a clear adhesive gem to the star and some red & white bakers twine to close the box and hang on the tree.  Basically, you can add anything you have to hand and I know crafters like to collect little embellishments, gems, ribbons and twines.

Don’t forget to add your treats before hanging them on the tree! I found some tiny candy canes to pop inside mine.  You could also use these boxes for the Christmas Table, add an initial or name and use as a place setting.
