JR Creations are a family run business with a mother and daughter combo that continuously giggle over copious amounts of tea while creating wonderful handmade creations for our lovely, loyal customer base.

Linda - is a retired florist that mans the office 24/7 and has a 100% response rate on our Facebook page. 31 years ago Linda gave birth to her first (and most creative) daughter Jennifer who started JR Creations in 2009.

Jennifer - is the computer geek that gets involved when the computer says no and fixes it with a restart. We are a family business and couldn't do it without the support of our brilliant husband and Father, Brendan.

Our excellent hat pin maker, Claire and one very special little man called Ryan.

1. When did you start crafting and what inspired you to start? What was your first project?

Jennifer started the crafting side when she was at home with her new Baby boy in 2007, just for fun. But by 2009 people began to get very interested in our cards as they were so different to what they could buy on the high street.

2. All of your products are handmade, how long does it take on average to make one of your handmade personalised creations?

We define Handmade at JR Creations as “A Creative Passion” each card is a unique design, tailored made for the individual customers requirements, occasionally we are asked to repeat a design, but always put in a little twist to make it again unique to that customer.

Cards can take up to 3 hours to make, Shadow boxes similar. Our exploding boxes take between 9 to 12 hours as there are so many layers and personal details.

On the other hand our personalised Christmas baubles can take up to 4 to 5 house to complete. These 4 items are out main products.

3. What three craft items/tools could you not live without?

The 3 craft items which are crucial to our business 1, top quality card stock (supplied by Paperrmilldirect) 2, Sharp guillotine, 3, Our Apple computer.

4. How many projects do you have on the go at one time?

We can only make one item at a time, but 9 to 5 we work on cards etc, while relaxing in the evening we are either making flowers, colouring flowers and at Christmas we make all our baubles at night. All very relaxing though!

5. What/who do you go to for inspiration before you start crafting?

My inspiration comes from my florist background, garden and nature in general. Current fashion trends also help us see another perspective.

6. Could you sum yourself up as a crafter in three words?

To sum up our love for crafting is easy “Making personal fabulous”

7. What is your favourite papermilldirect product and why?

Cardstock was always our favourite product. But now with the new colours and choices paper mills have online, we are totally spoiled for choice. Why do we like Papermilldirect's easy pricing and choice.

8. Do you have any advice for people wanting to start up their own business?

As we have a flower shop in the past, out motto was not being better than other florists but be different, the same applies to crafting and card making, “BE DIFFERENT”

10. What does the future hold for J R Creations?

We hope to continue to bring new designs to our online shop and new ideas.
