But what's her secret? Well, to start it's Practice Practice Practice! but it also comes down to what you're using and how you're applying it!
Vicki has written us a review on using New Super Smooth Card for colouring with Copic Markers!

Why Copic Markers?

Well, they're one of the leading brands of colouring pens and a firm favourite with a lot of crafters. They're a premium pen and need a premium card to complement how wonderful they are to work with. Unlike cheaper counter parts, Copic takes quality seriously and ensures consistent ink colours in every batch. With the option to buy refill packs and replace the nibs of worn-down pens, Copic is an environmentally conscious brand and one that prides itself on providing products that will last. Originally released in Japan in 1987, with Manga Artists being their target market, they have now expanded their reach across the globe and become a firm favourite of card makers, professional artists, and novices looking to improve their skills (or who deserve a little treat!). There are a few different types of Copic pens to choose from and a vast variety of different colours and shades. Perusing the Copic website is a real treat for anyone who loves pens, drawing, or colouring!

If you already have a pack or are debating treating yourself to one, then you'll need a card that will enhance your colouring skills rather than hold you back!

As Vicki mentions above, if you use a rough or regular card, then fibres can damage your pens or ruin your image due to the fibres being picked up by the nib of your pen and deposited in a less-than-desirable place.
This is down to tooth, or rather the lack of tooth, with our New Super Smooth Card. When we talk about tooth in terms of card and paper, we're really discussing all the minuscule grooves and indents in the card; the more tooth a card has, the rougher it will feel. When working with charcoal or graphite, you want a card with plenty of tooth, as the tiny indents in the card will retain the pigment from the charcoal or graphite you are using.

Whereas, if you're colouring with Copic pens, any amount of tooth a card has will over time damage the nib of your pen, meaning your details won't be as precise. Tooth can also hinder the blending process as the pen nib doesn't glide over the surface as easily and could leave uneven deposits of ink. The amount of tooth a card has can also affect how clean your outline or finer details look, especially when using fine liners.
