Hello and welcome to another quick and easy craft blog!
Today I've made two coffee mug gift card holders. Why two?
Because I tend to mess up when crafting only one project whereas sod's law if I make two of them (preparing for one to go wrong) then they end up both working out, typical!
If this happens to you, please comment below to make me feel better 😅Let's get started...
To create my coffee mug gift cards, I found a cutting file on the silhouette store. The Silhouette store is currently down (18/06/2024) so I'm struggling to find the link for the file I used.
However, Sarah Crafts has some great tutorials on creating gift card holders with coffee mug cutting files available on her site: https://www.craftwithsarah.com...
The Card Used:
Yale Blue Pure Pearl Single Sided Card 300gsm
Silver Mirror Card 270gsm
Polar Dawn Sirio Pearl Double Sided Card 300gsm
Marine Blue Plain 240gsm
With hindsight after making these, I wish I had picked all double-sided card. Single-sided is perfect for making traditional cards but when creating something a bit more 3D I think the single-sided card lets it down a little.
I cut my pieces using my Silhouette Cameo then grabbed some double-sided tape.
I attached tape to the lips of the front of my card then stuck it to the front of my card to create the pocket where gift card holder would slot.
I added the detailing to my cream part of my gift card holder and added the gift card into the hand pre-cut slots
I thought my gift card looked a little plain so I grabbed a Happy Birthday Die from my ever-growing stash and a circle one too. I cut some lovely Blue Glitter Card into a circle and used Blue Sirio Colour for the Happy Birthday Die.
I then added these to the front of one of my coffee mugs.
