Hello, Sylvia here with a tutorial using two collage wording stamps bought recently. I bought the word stamps as I thought they would make lovely CAS cards especially for men and teenagers who don't want cards which are too fussy. Today I have a tutorial showing how I used these stamps to make a tag birthday card and a few other ideas which are shown at the end of the post.
Materials I used for the cards:
- papermilldirect card - white hemp 255gsm, white hopsack 255gsm, white linen 255gsm, buff smooth 260gsm and black smooth 250gsm
- Crafty Individuals stamps CL261 Happy Birthday Caligraphy and CL468 You Are A Star
- black Archival ink
- clear and white embossing powder
- small star die and medium tag die
- distress inks and blenders
- metal stars and hemp cord
The large word image was stamped onto buff coloured card in black ink and the smaller image onto white card and clear embossed. I also stamped and embossed in white onto black card for use on other cards. I then die cut the smaller image with a medium sized tag die and cut round the larger image leaving a narrow border round the words.
I cut a piece of A4 white hemp card to 28cm x 17cm and folded it in half to make a card blank. The tag was coloured with distress inks and a few areas stenciled to add interest. The tag was matted onto a piece of black card and the edges trimmed into a tag shape. The buff stamped card was also matted onto black card.
The tag was decorated with silver stars and a die cut buff star with hemp cord and then attached with 3D foam tape. I placed it at an angle so the "You Are Amazing" and "You Are A Star" sentiments could be seen.
Below are some more ideas for using these stamps, a black and white CAS card with the panel attached with 3D foam tape, the tag card in a different colour and using different cord embellishment and a black and white card using black card embossed with white embossing powder.
I enjoyed using these stamps and will be keeping them handy for use in the future, I have a few ideas for a teenage card using the large word collage stamp.
Sylv xx
