Hello, sylvia here with two cards created with background stamps, distress inks and stencills. I have challenged myself this year to use stamps, inks and stencils that I have in my stash and try not to buy new ones. Out came a selection of small background stamps and stencils with bright distress inks ready to get started.
Stamps and materials used:
- papermilldirect white hemp 255gsm, white hopsack 255gsm and white linen 255gsm card
- stamps - AALL and create Set 45, Stampers Anonymos Crazy Talk,49 Market Gabi's Loose Threads, Jofy 36, Hero Arts Happy Stamp And Cut set
- Tim Holtz and other small stencils
- Ranger Archival and distress inks
The two cards above were made for female recipient and the butterfly and dragonfly make a beautiful focal point. I wanted a little texture too so chose textured card to make the card blanks.
The green and blue elements were stencilled first, then the grid and string. To add more colour I stamped tiny rounds and squares (made from bits of polymer left over from cutting out stamps) using bright pink, blue and lilac. Finally the sentiment was stamped.
The butterfly was stamped and coloured with distress inks using a waterbrush to mix the colours. This was attached to the card leaving part of the wings free.
The same process was used for the dragonfly card. this is a great way to use those small texture stamps and stencils and I will be making more of this style of card in the future.
Sylv xx
