Hello, Sylvia here with a short tutorial showing how to make this Christmas card with a 3D element and a splash of colour.  I love using Papermill direct buff card and this year it features in quite a few of my Christmas cards with other colours and textures.  I felt this card needed a bit of colour and thought the red boots would add a pop of colour.

Materials used:

  • Papermilldirect buff and white linen card
  • Crafty Individuals stamp - Winter Wonderland
  • Inkilicious stamp - Winter Cabin Small (sentiment)
  • Ranger Archival ink
  • Ranger glossy accents, Sharpie white pen and a red marker pen
  • 3D sticky pads

Make a square card from the buff card and stamp the image in the center and the sentiment below it.  Stamp the umbrella part of the stamp onto white card for cutting out later to make the 3D element.

Cut out the umbrella with scissors or a craft knife and colour the boots on the card with a red pen.

Use a white Sharpie pen to highlight the snowy areas on the cut out umbrella and attach over the umbrella on the card using 3D sticky pads.  Highlight the red on the boots with glossy accents, the colour will become brighter giving a pop of colour.

This is a design I am batch making this year, to batch make follow the same process as above stamping 10 or more cards, cutting out 10 or more umbrellas, colouring the boots on each card, add the glossy accents and allow to dry, the snow on each umbrella then assemble the cards.

The examples from the designers are just lovely, I especially like the 3D umbrella card - as suggested would be great for batchmaking. Thank you and keep up the good work.
