Hi all,
Nicole here today to share a pretty teal blue birthday card with you all. I am really loving the new Papermilldirect coloured card blanks. I love that I can just pick one up and it matches my existing card stock, it is just perfect and hassle free. For this card I used:
- Papermilldirect A6 Turquoise Card Blank
- Papermilldirect Turquoise Card
- Papermilldirect Teal Smooth Card
- Patterned paper
- Selection of dies
- Glue pen
- Foam tape
I started by using my Big Shot to cut out all my die cut pieces.
The honeycomb die needed to be glued overlapped to make a large enough piece to layer in behind the frame die cut. I used a glue pen for this to give me fine enough glue control and quick drying time. Once this was glued together I glued it in behind the die cut frame.
I then cut down a panel of the patterned paper and layered this in behind the honey comb. I kept some of the teal honeycombs from the honeycomb frame. I added these back into the honeycomb and glued these back into the frame. This breaks up the patterned paper a bit and gives a cool effect.
I cut a layer for a panel on the card from teal card, but this looked a bit plain by itself. So I decided to glue on some of the extra honeycombs. To do this I used some of the honeycomb frame that I didn't use as a template to place them all lined up straight. I then glued the honeycomb pieces in with the glue pen.
I repeated this all around the outside edges of this panel of card.I then adhered this panel down on top of the turquoise card blank.
I then used foam tape to add the honeycomb frame on top of the card.
For the sentiment I cut a piece of the turquoise card. I stamped a label effect happy birthday on one piece of it and trimmed this out. I cut the other piece out into a flag banner shape. I then used a mini stapler to staple these two pieces together.
I added the sentiment on top with some glue on the left side only and foam tape on the right to make sure it kept its dimension.
Then that was the card done. I love the colours on this, these colours work so well together and I loved that I didn't have to make the card base either!
