New babies are such a fun occasion to make cards for. Baby boy cards are sometimes trickier to make, but with the range of blue card from Papermilldirect, it is made much easier! For this card I used:
- Papermilldirect Tintoretto Ginepro Card
- Papermilldirect Celestial Blue Card
- Papermilldirect Maya Blue Pearl card
- Papermilldirect White card blank
- Papermilldirect Extra white linen card
- Papermilldirect Mango Yellow plain card
I die cut an oval shape out of the Maya Blue Pearl card, and using a small homemade star stencil, used Chipped Saphire Distress Ink to stencil on a star pattern. I blotted off the excess ink with some printer paper. You will have to either blot, heat set or wait until fully dry when inking onto the Pearl card. I wanted a more muted look so went with the blotting option.
On a panel of Celestial Blue card I stamped a star pattern in Stormy Sky Distress Ink and mounted this in behind the oval.
I added this panel onto a layer of the Tintoretto Ginepro and then added this all onto the plain white card base to get my card panel mostly ready.
I created a moon and star die cut from White Linen and Mango Yello and a sentiment banner from the Tintoretto Ginepro and added these with foam tape.
I used a marker to colour some chipboard stars to perfectly complement the Distress Ink and Tintoretto Ginepro colours and added these to the card. A coating of Glossy Accents on the stars gives them a fantastic shiny finished look once dry. It does take a while to dry, so make sure you do this step last!
Once the Glossy Accents was dry the card was done! I love the domed effect the Glossy Accents gives and the subtle shine from the Maya Blue card.
It is a fun, simple card, easy to make and nice to send in the mail!
