Cards for men can be hard, especially for big milestones. I love using the darker tones that Papermilldirect do for these cards and adding in texture and layers for some interest. On this card I used:
- Papermilldirect white card blank
- Papermilldirect Blu Navy Nettuno Linen Effect Card
- Papermilldirect Polvere Nettuno Linen Effect Card
- Papermilldirect Oltremare Nettuno Linen Effect Card
- Papermilldirect Hammered White Card
I started my card by creating matts of the navy and oltremare linen effect card on the white card base.
The texture on the Nettuno card is beautiful. But for this birthday card I wanted a little more pop of texture. So I embossed the oltremare layer with an embossing folder.
I cut two frames for on top of the panels to add my sentiment onto. I decided at this point to introduce some Hammered White to the card.
I also felt that the background needed a little more lifting and the sentiment frames needed a bit of grounding onto the background so I added some pale blue seam binding ribbon. I have it placed on the layers here to test the colour match.
I stamped my sentiment using a combination of birthday stamps and alphabet stamps for the 'th'. I die cut the number 80 using a Tim Holtz number die.
I then adhered the ribbon and sentiment panels and added some gems, and it was done. The card was very well received by a very young at heart 80 year old!
