Candy Colours For A Sweet Girl

Hi everyone, Sylvia here with a pretty candy coloured birthday card. The card started out as an embossed piece of papermilldirect extra white linen 250gsm card from my "to use at some time" box. This was coloured with blue, pink, yellow and green distress oxides and spritzed with water to make the colours run.

The colours on the embossed panel were so lovely I picked a papermilldirect pale turquoise card blank, white hemp textured 255gsm card, Spring green smooth 240gsm card and baby pink plain 240gsm card to match it when designing the card.

The coffee cup was cut from the different coloured cards using a Tim Holtz large Sizzix die. The cup was assembled using the different colours of card, the heart was stamped and glittered and lace flowers added. The cup was then added to the embossed panel with 3D sticky pads. The greeting was stamped onto a scrap of white card and attached with 3D sticky pads so it was the same height as the cup.

The finished embossed panel was layered onto pink card then onto white hemp card and finally onto the turquoise card blank.

As I keep a few bits and pieces on my desk with the intention of making into cards or tags I have set myself a task to use them over the next few weeks. I was so pleased how this card came together it will be interesting to see what I can come up with and hopefully clear my desk.
