What a year we have had here at papermilldirect! We wanted to take some time to look back over some of the design teams work over the last year. They have picked their favourite blog posts of 2017 so we hope you enjoy looking back on some beautiful work.

I think my favourite project was the paper-cut heart wedding card. I enjoyed working with my favourite White Linen Card and how well it cut with my Cricut Explore as well as manual die cutting machine. This card wasn't planned and sort of evolved itself based around a papercut heart, The only brief I had was the personalisation & colour scheme and I enjoyed learning more about slicing and welding in my Cricut software. Using the Linen cardstock gave a lovely elegant look especially for a wedding card and of course it's one of my favourite PMD cardstocks to work with.

The blog I created using the gelli plate for my bright inky tutorial in August was my favourite. It was the first time I had used the gelli plate and I was hooked, one of my favourite colour combinations too. It worked well using distress inks even on the textured cards, I have also used it with acrylic paints on the smooth white card. I am thinking of another tutorial for next year using this technique.

I think mine is the Celebrate Love! card I created. I loved using the Pixi Powders and combining them with the hammered white card made a beautiful and really striking contrast. The hammered white card is my all time favourite PMD card for making clean and simple cards, and combining it with the shimmering colours just made it a beautiful, elegant and unique anniversary card!

Card making Tutorial - Quick & Colourful…....
My favourite tutorial of 2017 is the Quick & Colourful blog I created. I love using stencils and bright Inks on Papermilldirect white hemp & white hopsack card. The colours show up so well against the crisp white background. There is always a matching colour card to compliment the Inks, from the great range of colours at Papermilldirect
We look forward to all of the amazing blogs the designers will create in 2018 and would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year!
