Hi all,

It's Karen here and I made this card for my brother in law whose birthday it is in a few weeks time. This card requires no stamping and I used one of my newest dies – elegant numbers – I love it.

I chose this colour scheme as it matched his birthday invitations. I love this gold card from papermilldirect as it is has a lovely texture within it.

Materials used:

Dies used;

  • Elegant numbers by Marianne collectables
  • Star burst from Joanna Sheen
  • Stitched rectangles from Sizzix
  • Happy Birthday from Elizabeth Craft Designs

Glue and 3D mounting pads

I began by die cutting a piece of gold sandgrain card slightly smaller than the black A6 sized card. I used glue to stick it to the black card.

I die cut the star burst and number 40 in black. I cut three of the stitched rectangles and stuck them together to create a bit of a ‘raised’ frame. I used a mixture of glue and 3D mounting pads to give the extra dimension when sticking the numbers to the card.

I glued the Birthday at the bottom. Overall I like the simple but smart look achieved.

Voila!
